How to run a Company Search on Prospector

The interactive demo below will help you to search for companies via Cognism Prospector

Go to Prospector and click Company.

Add Filters to Refine Your Search

Use filters under General Information to pinpoint your ideal companies

• Company name/domain

  • Include or exclude specific names or upload a CSV list via the three-dot menu.

•  

  • Size

    • Filter by number of employees (e.g., 11–1000); check intermediate ranges as needed.

  • Keywords

    • Include or exclude terms in company descriptions.

  • Revenue range

  • Founded date

    • Filter companies by the year they were founded.

  • Business type

    • Choose from options like non-profit or privately held.

  • Location

    • Filter by HQ or presence across countries, regions, cities, or zip codes (CSV upload supported).

  • Industry

    • Use SIC, ISIC, or NAICS codes, or pick from a list.

  • Technologies

    • Include/exclude companies based on the tools or tech they use.

  • Event triggers

    • Filter by funding, acquisitions, IPOs, hiring events, etc.

  • Settings

    • Use toggles like “Company Name Exact Match” or “Domain Exact Match.” 🔔 Exact match may limit results.
      

Filters are applied in real time—your results update as you adjust them.

View & Manage Results

• • The count of Companies Found appears at the top.

  • To reset filters, click Clear filters or Hide applied filters for a cleaner view

Export or Continue to Contact Search

Once you're satisfied:

• • Download CSV of company names/domains (for use in a People Search if needed).

  • Select companies and click Find Contacts to switch directly to contact-level filtering

• Use + Save to add individual companies to Saved Companies

Save and Re-run Your Search

Click Save to name and store your search for future use.
