You do not need to change any settings to apply the security controls described below.
How does the Cognism extension access data?
The Cognism Chrome Extension only activates on supported pages. It does not scan or collect data from unrelated websites.
When the extension is active, it:
- Reads page content to identify companies and people
- Displays data already available in your Cognism account
The extension does not store website content locally on your device.
Data handling and storage
All data displayed in the extension is processed through Cognism’s secure infrastructure.
- Data is transferred using encrypted connections
- No Cognism data is permanently stored in the browser
- Session data is cleared when you log out or close the browser
