This article explains how to configure your Cognism Chrome Extension after installation. Adjusting these settings helps you control where the extension appears and how it connects to your Cognism account.
Before you start
Make sure you have downloaded and installed the Cognism Chrome Extension and are logged in with your Cognism account details.
Here are the steps to setting up the Cognism extension for Chrome:
1 - Open extension settings
- Click the Cognism icon in your browser toolbar
- In the extension panel, click the Settings icon
- The settings panel opens in a new view
- Configure your preferences
- Use the settings menu to customise how the extension works and what information it shows
2 - Set up your profile
Displays the name and email address of the user currently logged in.
You can use this to confirm that you are signed into the correct Cognism account.
3 - Enable everywhere
The Cognism extension doesn’t only work on Chrome. You can enable it to work across supported company websites, LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and other browsers.
All you need to do is turn this on to allow the extension to run on supported channels.
You can also turn it off if you only want the extension to appear on LinkedIn pages.
4 - Auto-open extension
When enabled, the Cognism extension opens automatically when you visit supported pages.
You can disable this if you’d like to open the extension manually.
5 - Extension position
Choose whether the extension appears on the left or right side of your screen.
This can help avoid overlapping with other browser tools or page content.
6 - Profile settings
Open your account settings in the Cognism Web App.
Use this area to manage personal details and account preferences.
7 - CRM integrations
Access CRM configuration options through the Cognism platform.
You can check your connection status or sign in to your CRM if required.
