Use the Cognism Chrome Extension with Salesforce to view contact and company data, and export records without leaving your CRM.
This article explains how to use the Cognism Browser Extension within Salesforce to view and export Cognism data while working in your CRM.
Before you start
Make sure that:
- The Cognism Chrome Extension is installed and pinned to your browser
- You are logged in to the extension
- You have access to Salesforce
- Enable Everywhere is turned on in the extension settings
The extension only appears in Salesforce when Enable Everywhere is enabled.
Opening the extension in Salesforce
- Open Salesforce in Google Chrome.
- Go to a supported Salesforce record, such as a lead, contact, or account.
- If Auto-open extension is enabled, the Cognism panel opens automatically.
- If it does not open, click the Cognism pullout tag on the right side of your screen.
The extension opens alongside the Salesforce page.
Viewing data on Salesforce records
When the extension opens on a Salesforce record, it displays relevant Cognism data based on the record details.
This can include:
- Contact email addresses
- Mobile phone numbers
- Job title and seniority
- Company firmographics
- Technology indicators
The data shown depends on availability and your account permissions.
Enriching Salesforce records with Cognism
You can use the extension to enrich existing Salesforce records with Cognism data.
- Open a lead, contact, or account in Salesforce.
- Open the Cognism Chrome Extension.
- Review the available data.
- Select Export to update the Salesforce record.
Only empty or unmapped fields are updated, depending on your CRM settings.
Expected results
When used in Salesforce, the Cognism Chrome Extension displays relevant contact and company data directly alongside your CRM records. You can enrich records, request verified data, and reduce the need to switch between tools.
