This guide shows how to use the Cognism extension on company websites to access firmographic data and identify relevant contacts as you browse. With the extension enabled, you can qualify accounts, find key decision-makers, and export data to your CRM without leaving the page.
Before you start
Make sure that:
- The Cognism Chrome Extension is installed and pinned to your browser
- You are logged in to the extension
- Enable Everywhere is turned on in the extension settings
Without this setting enabled, the extension only appears on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator.
Open the extension on a company website
- Open a company website in Google Chrome.
- If Auto-open extension is enabled, the Cognism panel opens automatically.
- If it does not open, click the Cognism icon in your browser toolbar.
The extension opens alongside the website.
View company data
When the extension opens on a company website, it displays company-level information based on the domain.
This can include:
- Company name and industry
- Company size
- Headquarters location
- Revenue range
- Technologies used by the company
Use this information to assess whether the company matches your target account profile.
View associated contacts
If Cognism has contacts linked to the company domain, the extension lists available people.
This can include:
- Names and job titles
- Departments and seniority levels
- Available email addresses or phone numbers
You can select a contact to view more detailed information.
Export data to your CRM
You can export companies or contacts directly from a company website.
- Open the Cognism Chrome Extension on the website.
- Select a company or contact.
- Click Export.
- Choose the relevant CRM fields if prompted.
Exports sync with your CRM through Cognism.
Expected results
