How to uninstall the Cognism Chrome Extension: remove the extension from Chrome in a few steps without affecting your Cognism account.
This guide shows how to remove the extension from your browser using the toolbar or Chrome settings. Uninstalling the extension stops Cognism data from appearing while you browse, but your account and data remain unchanged.
Before you start
Before uninstalling Cognism, make sure:
- You are using any Chrome-based browser
- You are signed in to the Chrome profile where the extension is installed
Uninstalling the extension removes it from your browser but does not delete your Cognism account.
Uninstalling the extension from the Chrome toolbar
- Open Google Chrome.
- In the browser toolbar, click the Extensions icon.
- Find Cognism in the list of installed extensions.
- Click the More options icon next to Cognism.
- Select Remove from Chrome.
- In the confirmation dialogue, click Remove.
Chrome removes the extension from your browser.
Uninstalling the extension from Chrome settings
You can also remove the Cognism extension from Chrome’s settings menu.
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click into the “Customise and Control Google Chrome” area.
- Select Extensions.
- Navigate to Extensions and click on “Manage extensions”.
- Find Cognism in the list.
- Click Remove.
- Confirm by clicking Remove again.
Expected results
After uninstalling, the Cognism Chrome Extension no longer appears in your browser toolbar. Cognism data will no longer display when you browse LinkedIn or supported websites.
Your Cognism account and data remain unchanged.
