This article explains how to apply personas to quickly filter contact results and improve targeting.
Personas help you quickly narrow down contact search results by applying predefined criteria. By combining personas with other search filters, you can find the most relevant contacts and streamline your prospecting.
Prerequisites
Before you start:
- Personas must already be created and managed by a Cognism admin
- End users cannot create or edit personas
If you cannot see any personas, contact your admin.
How to use your personas in your Cognism search
1 - Open contact search
- In Cognism, click Search in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the Contacts tab.
Personas are only available when searching for contacts. They do not apply to company searches.
2 - Apply a persona to your search
- In the filters panel, expand Persona.
- Select a persona from the dropdown list.
The selected persona is applied immediately and filters your search results.
3 - Combine personas with other filters
After applying a persona, you can refine results further by adding additional filters such as:
- Job title
- Seniority
- Department
- Location
Expected results
After applying a persona:
- Contact results are filtered based on the selected persona
- Results update immediately when a persona is selected or removed
