Before you start

Make sure that:

  • You are logged in to Cognism
  • You have Admin permission to assign companies and personas

How to assign a company in Cognism

Company assignment defines ownership of an account and helps teams avoid duplicate outreach.

Assigning a company from a company profile

  1. Open Cognism
  2. Open a company profile
  3. Select a user or team from the list

The assignment updates immediately.

How to assign companies from search results

You can assign multiple companies at the same time.

  1. Go to Search.
  2. Select Companies.
  3. Apply filters to find the relevant companies.
  4. Select one or more companies from the results list.
  5. Choose Assign.
  6. Select the user or team.

All selected companies are assigned at once.

Persona assignment defines who you are targeting within a company, such as decision-makers or specific roles.

  1. Open Cognism.
  2. Open a company profile.
  3. Select one or more personas from the list.

You can change or remove company or persona assignments at any time.

  • To update a company owner, change the Assigned to field.
  • To update personas, add or remove personas from the Persona section.

Changes apply immediately and are visible to other users with access.
