How to Set Up and Switch Platform Language

How do I change the language on Cognism? Learn how to update language settings in the web app and Chrome Extension in a few steps.

This guide shows how to set up and switch your preferred language in both the web app and Chrome Extension. 

With personalised language settings, you can update your experience at any time and work in the language that suits you best.

Before you start

Make sure that:

  • You are logged in to Cognism
  • You have access to the Cognism web app or Browser Extension

Language changes apply only to your user account. They do not affect other users.

Change the language in the web app

You can update your language preference from the web app settings.

  1. Open the Cognism web app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Languages.
  4. Choose your preferred language.
  5. Toggle the language on or off as required.

The interface updates immediately after you make a change.

Available languages in the web app

Cognism currently supports the following languages:

  • English
  • French
  • German

You can switch between languages at any time.

Change the language in the Browser Extension

You can also update your language preference directly from the Chrome Extension.

  1. Open the Cognism Browser Extension.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Open Languages.
  4. Toggle your preferred language on or off.

The extension updates as soon as the setting is changed.

How language settings work

Language preferences are saved per user.

This means:

  • Your language choice applies only to your account
  • Other users see the product in their own selected language
  • You can use different languages in the web app and extension if needed

You can update your language settings whenever your preferences change.

Expected results

After updating your language settings, the Cognism interface displays text in your selected language. Changes take effect immediately and remain in place until you update them again.
