This guide explains how to troubleshoot issues with the Google, Microsoft, and Organization SSO login buttons and identifies when administrator assistance may be required.
Before You Begin
Before troubleshooting:
- Ensure you are using the correct email address.
- Ensure your Cognism account has been created and activated.
- Capture any error message displayed during login.
- Verify you have internet access and can reach the Cognism login page.
Which Login Method Are You Using?
Use the Google button if your organization authenticates users through Google.
Microsoft
Use the Microsoft button if your organization authenticates users through Microsoft.
Organization SSO
Use the Organization SSO button only if your organization has configured a custom SSO integration directly within Cognism.
Important: Okta and Microsoft Entra users should not use the Organization SSO button unless specifically instructed to do so by their administrator.
Organizations using Okta or Microsoft Entra typically access Cognism directly from their identity provider portal.
Google Login Not Working
- Verify you are signing in with the correct Google account.
- Sign out of other Google accounts and try again.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Test in an Incognito window.
- If the issue persists, contact your administrator.
Microsoft Login Not Working
- Verify you are signing in with the correct Microsoft account.
- Sign out of other Microsoft accounts and try again.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Test in an Incognito window.
- If you receive an access denied error, contact your administrator.
Organization SSO Login Not Working
- Verify your organization uses the Organization SSO login option.
- Confirm the email address entered matches your company account.
- Capture the exact error message displayed.
- Contact your administrator to verify your SSO configuration and access.
Common Browser Troubleshooting
If the issue occurs with any login method:
- Clear browser cache and cookies.
- Disable browser extensions.
- Try an Incognito window.
