Use the Company Upload feature to match, include, or exclude specific companies in your search. This helps you target the exact organisations you want, rather than relying on company name searches that may return multiple results.
For example, searching for a company name such as "Apple" can return many results. Uploading a company list allows the system to match companies directly to their company IDs for more accurate targeting.
Before you start
You can upload:
- Up to 10,000 rows per CSV file
- Up to 10 CSV files
- Up to 100,000 organisations in total
To match a company, each row must contain at least one of the following:
- Company name
- Domain
- Location
- LinkedIn URL
- Cognism ID
Upload a company list
- Open the Company Upload filter.
- Select Upload CSV.
- Download the CSV template.
- Add your company data to the template.
- Choose whether you want to Include or Exclude the companies in your file.
- Upload your completed CSV file.
- Select Review.
Review your matches
After your file is processed, you'll see a summary of the matched results.
If any rows could not be matched, you can download a CSV containing only the unmatched rows. This can help you identify records that may need additional information.
Complete the upload
Select Done to apply the matched companies to your search.
The system will create a one-to-one match using company IDs, helping you target or exclude the correct organisations.
Troubleshooting unmatched records
A company may fail to match if there is not enough information to identify it confidently.
If records are not matched:
- Check that each row contains at least one supported data point.
- Add additional information where possible, such as a domain, LinkedIn URL, or location.
- Re-upload the updated file and review the results again.
