This article explains how to export records from Cognism to Outreach and how records are created during export.
Once your Outreach integration is enabled, you can export records from search, lists, individual profiles and the Chrome extension.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure:
- Your Outreach integration is enabled
- You are logged in to Outreach
- Your Cognism Admin has configured integration settings and field mappings
The Outreach option appears in the Export menu once the integration is enabled. It remains disabled until you log in to Outreach.
Before you export
Contacts must be revealed before they can be exported.
- In the Cognism web app, you need to spend a credit to reveal contact data before you can add the contact to a list or export it
- In the Chrome extension, you must reveal the contact before you can take actions such as exporting
If a contact has not been revealed, export options will not be available.
Understand how records are created in Outreach
When you export a record:
- If no matching Prospect exists in Outreach, a new Prospect is created
- Mapped fields are populated based on your integration settings
- You can assign the record to a Sequence or save it to a Prospect List
- If no matching Account exists, a new Account is created
- If a matching record exists, it is updated according to your integration settings
Export from search
- Run your search in the Cognism platform
- Select the records you want to export
- Click Export > Outreach
- Choose whether to:
- Add the records to a Sequence, or
- Save them to a Prospect List
- If enabled, select which email address to use for the Sequence
- Select an existing Account, or allow a new Account to be created
- Click Export
A notification confirms when the export is successful.
Export from a list
- Go to Lists
- Open the list you want to export from
- Select the contacts you want to export
- Click Export > Outreach
- Choose whether to add the records to a Sequence or Prospect List
- Select the appropriate Account
- Click Export
A confirmation message appears once the export is complete.
Export from an individual profile
- Open the contact profile
- Click Export > Outreach
- Select a Sequence or Prospect List
- Choose the Account
- Click Export
Export from the Cognism Chrome extension
- Open the Cognism Chrome extension on the contact you want to export
- Click Export > Outreach
- Select:
- The Sequence or Prospect List, and
- The Account the record should belong to
- Review the record details
- Click Export
To edit details before exporting, click Edit within the profile.
Account search limitation
When exporting from the Chrome extension, Account search is limited by the Outreach API.
To find an Account:
- Enter the exact Account name, or
- Select from the 100 most recently updated Accounts in Outreach
