By understanding export options and integration behaviour, you can manage your data more effectively and support your outreach workflows.
Before exporting, make sure your Salesloft integration is configured correctly.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure:
- Your Salesloft integration is enabled
- Your Cognism Admin has configured integration settings and field mappings
- You are logged in to Salesloft
Before you export
Contacts must be revealed before they can be exported.
- In the Cognism web app, you need to spend a credit to reveal contact data before you can add the contact to a list or export it
- In the Chrome extension, you must reveal the contact before you can take actions such as exporting
If a contact has not been revealed, export options will not be available.
Export from search (Cognism web platform)
You can export up to 1000 records at a time from search results.
- Run your search in the Cognism platform
- Select the records you want to export
- Click Export > Salesloft
- Choose whether to:
- Add the records to a Cadence, and/or
- Add them to a People List
- Add Tags if required
- Click Continue
- Review the records and associated accounts
- Reassign to a different existing account if needed
- Click Export All
- Select:
- Export All Contacts, or
- Export Contacts with Existing Accounts only
A banner in the top right confirms the number of successfully exported records.
Export from a list
- Go to Lists
- Open the list you want to export from
- Select the contacts you want to export
- Click Export > Salesloft
- Choose whether to add the records to a Cadence or People List
- Add Tags if required
- Click Continue
- Review and reassign associated accounts if needed
- Click Export All
- Select your preferred export option
A confirmation banner appears once the export is complete.
Export from the Cognism Chrome extension
- Open the Cognism Chrome extension on the contact you want to export
- Click Export > Salesloft
- Review the associated account
- Choose whether to:
- Add the record to a Cadence, and/or
- Add Tags
- Click Export
If you do not want to add the record to a Cadence or apply Tags, you can skip these options and proceed with the export.
A banner confirms when the export is successful.
Understand how records are created in Salesloft
When exporting to Salesloft:
- If the Person and Account do not exist, new records are created
- Mapped fields are populated based on your integration settings
- If records already exist, they are updated according to your configured update rules
Export records without an email address
Whether you can export a record without an email address depends on your integration settings.
By default:
- Records without an email address will fail to export
If permitted by your Admin:
- Records without an email address can be exported
- You can add or edit an email address in the Cognism Chrome extension before exporting
Access exported records in Salesloft
After export, records will appear in Salesloft based on your selected destination:
- Cadence
- People List
To locate exported records:
- Log in to Salesloft
- Navigate to the relevant Cadence or People List
Newly added records may display a New label next to the name.
