Learn how to export and sync records from Cognism to Microsoft Dynamics 365, including leads, contacts, and associated companies.
This article explains how to export records from Cognism to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Before exporting, make sure your Dynamics 365 integration is configured correctly.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure:
- Your Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration is enabled
- Your Cognism Admin has configured integration settings and field mappings
- You are logged in to Dynamics 365
If these settings are not configured, you will not be able to export records.
Before you export
Contacts must be revealed before they can be exported.
- In the Cognism web app, you need to spend a credit to reveal contact data before you can add the contact to a list or export it
- In the Chrome extension, you must reveal the contact before you can take actions such as exporting
If a contact has not been revealed, export options will not be available.
Understand how records are created
When you export a record to Dynamics 365:
- If no matching record exists, a new record is created
- Mapped fields are populated based on your integration settings
- You can choose to export as a Lead or Contact
- Depending on your configuration, associated Company records may also be created or linked
Export from search (Cognism web application)
You can export up to 25 records at a time from search results.
- Run your search in the Cognism platform
- Select the records you want to export
- Click Export > Dynamics 365
- Select whether to export as a Lead or Contact
- Click Next
- Review the export details
- Click Export all
If your integration is configured to include associated companies, you will be prompted to review the related company before confirming.
A banner in the top right confirms when the export is successful.
Export from a list
- Go to Lists
- Open the list you want to export from
- Select the contacts you want to export
- Click Export > Dynamics 365
- Select whether to export as a Lead or Contact
- Click Next
- Review the export details
- Click Export all
If company creation is enabled in your integration settings, you will be prompted to review associated company records before confirming.
A confirmation banner will appear once the export is complete.
Export from the Cognism Chrome extension
- Open the Cognism Chrome extension on the record you want to export
- Click Export > Dynamics 365
- Select Lead or Contact
- Review the record details
To edit details before export:
- Click Edit, or
- Hover over a field and select the pencil icon to update the value
- Click Export
A banner confirms when the record has been successfully exported.
Access exported records in Dynamics 365
- Log in to Dynamics 365
- Navigate to Leads or Contacts, depending on your export selection
If company creation is enabled, associated Company records will appear in the relevant account view.
You can use Dynamics filters and views to locate exported records by owner or creation date.
