How to Integrate Cognism with Microsoft Dynamics

Export contacts from Cognism to Microsoft Dynamics

This article explains how to set up and use the Microsoft Dynamics integration to export contacts in bulk from the Cognism to Dynamics.

Contacts can be exported as Leads or Contacts, with or without Accounts.

The integration is admin-led. An admin must enable the integration and configure field mappings before other users can log in and use it.

 

What the Microsoft Dynamics integration supports

Once enabled, the integration allows:

  • Bulk export of leads and contacts from Cognism to Microsoft Dynamics 
  • Exporting records as Leads or Contacts, with or without Accounts 

 

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure:

  • You are an admin in Cognism (for initial setup)  
  • You have valid Microsoft Dynamics credentials  
  • Field mappings are reviewed and configured before users begin exporting 

 

Enable the Microsoft Dynamics integration (admin)

Only admin users can enable and configure the integration. Admins must configure field mappings to ensure exports work correctly. Instructions for field mapping are covered in a separate article.

  1. Go to Integrations  

  1. Find Microsoft Dynamics > Select Connect Integration

  1. Enter your Dynamics CRM URL when prompted.  

 

  1. Login to Dynamics

  1. Sign in with your Microsoft account if required. 

If you are already logged in to your Microsoft account, you may not be prompted to sign in again after entering the CRM URL.

After successful authentication, you are redirected back to Cognism. A confirmation message indicates that the connection was successful.

 

Log out or remove the integration (admin)

  • Select Log out to disconnect your own session  
  • Select Remove to disable the integration for all users  

Removing the integration disconnects Microsoft Dynamics for the entire organisation.

 

Log in to the Microsoft Dynamics integration (users)

Once the admin has enabled and configured the integration, individual users can log in.

  1. Go to Integrations > Microsoft Dynamics > Log in.  

  1. Enter your Microsoft Dynamics credentials. 

After login, you are redirected back to Cognism and can begin exporting contacts.

 

Expected results

After setup:

  • Admins control integration availability and field mappings 
  • Users authenticate Microsoft Dynamics individually 
  • Contacts can be exported in bulk from Cognism 
  • Records are created as Leads or Contacts in Dynamics
