Learn how to set up Pipedrive field mappings in Cognism to control exports, map data accurately, and manage update rules.
This guide explains how to map Cognism contact and company data to the correct fields in Pipedrive. By configuring field mappings and update rules, you can ensure accurate data exports
Prerequisites
Before you start, you should:
- Have Pipedrive connected to Cognism
- Be an admin or have permission to configure integrations
- Be logged in to Pipedrive
- Understand how you want Cognism data to appear in Pipedrive
Open the Pipedrive field mapping settings
- In Cognism, click Integrations in the left-hand menu.
- Select Pipedrive.
- Click Setup.
- Follow the setup steps until you reach Map data fields.
You must be logged in to Pipedrive to access the field mapping settings.
Configure export behaviour
Navigate to Export Rules Tab to set export rules to control how Cognism handles existing records when exporting to Pipedrive.
Update rules
Update rules define what happens when Cognism finds an existing person or organisation in Pipedrive.
You can choose whether to:
- Update an existing person
- Update the related organisation
These settings apply when exporting both new and existing data.
Map person fields
Use the Person step to map Cognism contact data to Pipedrive person fields.
For each Cognism field, select the Pipedrive field you want to map it to from the dropdown.
You can map Cognism data to standard or custom Pipedrive fields.
If you want to capture source data, we recommend creating a custom field such as cognism_source in Pipedrive.
Map organisation fields
Use the Organisation step to map Cognism company data to Pipedrive organisation fields.
This controls how company-level data is written when organisations are created or updated in Pipedrive.
Save your field mappings
Once you have configured your field mappings, click Save changes.
Cognism will export data to Pipedrive using the mappings you have defined.
Expected results
After configuring Pipedrive field mappings:
- Cognism exports people and organisations to the correct Pipedrive fields
- Existing records are updated based on your update rules
