How to configure how DNC numbers are displayed on Cognism and manage visibility of Do Not Call numbers by country.

How to configure how DNC numbers are displayed on Cognism: this guide explains how admins can control the visibility of Do Not Call numbers across different regions.

By adjusting these settings, you can balance compliance requirements with your team’s prospecting needs while ensuring DNC numbers are clearly labelled.

How to control the visibility of DNC numbers on Cognism

In some cases, users may need to contact prospects outside their own geography or native DNC jurisdiction. Cognism allows admins to control DNC number visibility to support this, while maintaining compliance.

Numbers listed on the TPS or CTPS are never displayed.

How DNC numbers appear by default

By default, DNC numbers are hidden for all countries.

When a number is hidden:

  • It appears as Hidden (DNC) in Search
  • It appears as Hidden (DNC) in the Chrome Extension

Verified mobile numbers can still belong to a DNC list or registry and are hidden by default.

How to make DNC numbers visible for all users (admin)

Only admin users can change DNC visibility settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Compliance > Do Not Call.
  1. Review the list of countries

DNC numbers are hidden by default. To reveal them:

  1. Untick the checkbox for the relevant country.
  2. Select Save Changes.

Once saved, all users can view DNC numbers for that country. The number will have a DNC label next to it.

Expected Results

After configuration:

  • DNC numbers remain hidden by default
  • Admins control who can view DNC numbers and for which countries
  • Visible DNC numbers are clearly labelled
  • TPS and CTPS numbers are never displayed

Next Steps

  • Set up Do Not Call preferences and location restrictions
  • Review compliance settings regularly with your legal or compliance team
