Setting up Microsoft Dynamics Field Mappings

Field mapping allows you to specify what Cognism data or custom values will flow into Microsoft Dynamics when new or existing data is exported from the Cognism Web Application.

Go to Settings Integrations Microsoft Dynamics Settings Cog (next to Log Out)

Here you have Options to configure different actions when exporting to Dynamics. 

 

General

Update Rules allow you to decide what happens if matches for prospects or accounts are found in the CRM when exporting to CRM. You can choose to:

  • Update existing prospect and related account record

  • Don't update any already existing records

Syncing Rules allow you to decide how prospects are exported to Dynamics. you can choose between Leads or Contacts, Leads only, or Contacts only

 

Contact

Within the Contact tab, you can configure what Cognism data fields are mapped to in Dynamics by selecting an option to be mapped from the picklist. 

The following Cognism mappings are available (All out-of-the-box Dynamics fields are supported): 

You can decide what you map certain fields to in your Dynamics CRM. The fields can be custom fields, for example source - we recommend creating a custom field “cognism_source”.

Account

Within the Account tab, you can configure how and what Account data is mapped over from Cognism to Dynamics.

Update Rules

When data is being mapped into Dynamics, you have the option to configure an Update Rule. Cognism data can be applied if the datapoint was not previously mapped or you can choose to overwrite data points with Cognism Data every time you export/sync to your Dynamics CRM. 

 

Export Settings

Click the Settings cog next to the update rule dropdown. You can toggle the behaviour of an export for individual mappings with the following options:

  • Read Only Option - If enabled, user will not be able to make any changes to this field.

  • Is Visible Option - If enabled, user will be able to see this field in the edit during export.
