How to Integrate Cognism to Salesforce

The Salesforce integration with Cognism is a user-based integration which allows you to export records in bulk from Cognism Sales Companion into your Salesforce either as Leads or Contacts, with or without Accounts.

An admin user needs to first enable and setup the integration in the Cognism platform before other users in the organization are able to use the integration, after which all users can login and begin using the integration.

Info

We do not integrate with the Salesforce Essentials package; you must be on Professional or above to be able to sync to Salesforce.

For Professional, you will need to contact your Account Manager and ask for API to be enabled.

Logging in to the Salesforce integration

  • Login to Sales Companion WebApp
  • Click Integrations on the left.

  • Navigate to the Salesforce integration and click Setup.

  • The Salesforce Permissions below are required for an admin to be able to setup the integration:
  1. Marketing User
  2. Read, Create and Edit Leads
  3. Read, Create and Edit Contacts
  4. Read, Create and Edit Accounts
  5. View SetUp and Configuration

  • You will then be redirected to the Companion Web App indicating you have successfully logged in with Salesforce.

Info:

All Cognism users should be integrated from their individual Salesforce accounts to the same Salesforce environment.

To remove the integration, click Remove. Please note, Remove will log out all Cognism users out of their integrated Salesforce accounts. Additionally, once an integration has been removed, all custom export rules and mapping fields are permanently removed from the setup.

Logging into Salesforce from Sales Companion

  • Open Sales Companion and click on the Settings Cog (4th icon from the top).
  • Click on Log In in line with Salesforce under the integrations section.
