Microsoft Entra ID – Cognism integration allows for easier access of your organization’s users to the Cognism platform with the enablement of IdP-initiated Single Sign-On.
Prerequisites
Entra ID Single Sign-on is only available on the Diamond License.
Entire setup needs to be completed by a Cognism Admin.
Entra Admin privileges are required.
Login after setup
Users do not need to go to the Cognism log in page.
Log in via the Cognism App in Entra and you are redirected to Cognism.
The steps below outline the setup process. You will be required to go back and forth between the organisation’s Entra and the Cognism Web Application.
Add the Cognism App in Entra
Search for and add Cognism in Entra.
Copy the Identifier and ACS URL from the Cognism Web Application
Click the User Avatar at the top-right of the screen and click Settings.
Click the Single Sign-On tab at the left of the screen. Go to the Entra SSO and click Configure.
Copy the Identifier (Entity ID) and ACS URL (SSO URL) from the modal and paste this in Entra.
Generate the Entity ID and X.509 Certificate in Entra
You should be able to copy, or download the certificate. This will be used in the next part of the setup back in the Cognism Web Application.
Complete the configuration in the Cognism Web Application
Copy and Paste the Entity ID from Entra.
Copy and Paste the X.509 Certificate that is generated in Entra.
Remember to exclude the text “-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----” and “-----END CERTIFICATE-----”
Click Enable to activate Entra once both fields are filled in.
If your Entra instance is set up with a custom domain, you will need to reach out to our Support team to whitelist the domain before users can login via Entra.
Users can then log in to Cognism via Entra.
For a successful login experience, ensure that users assigned in Entra are all associated with the same Cognism account.
